Driving in Orange County, California
Driving in Orange County can be fun, but it can be stressful at times. With a large population of native and foreign drivers, you'll need to be prepared for anything that comes along to stay safe.
Driving on city and town roads is different from driving on county highways and freeways. You'll need to know the rules of the road and driving laws for each type of scenario. The rules of the road teach you the laws and how they work. These rules are important because they provide us with guidelines and other motorists must be aware of them to drive on our roadways. While not everyone follows the rules, most motorists respect the law and drive safely.
Some rules of the road you'll need to know and understand include the following topics:
-Stopping, merging, and yielding
-Traffic signals and uncontrolled intersections
-Road signs and how to handle a lack of signs
-Laws regarding other motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and moving over for emergency vehicles
-Standard speed limits and more
